Audrey, with family, came west from Winnipeg to Vancouver in 1924. She lived in Dunbar and Kerrisdale, where she raised her family. When the need arose, she returned to the work force in the early 1950s.
Upon retirement she moved to Bowser, BC where her dream of living beside the ocean was realized. Audrey enjoyed herseaside cottage until 2007, when she moved to the Gardens, in Qualicum Beach.
A lover of family, outdoors, gardens, music, and dogs, this determined mother had a full life, rich in family and friends.
Audrey's faith manifest a strong and positive attitude toward life. She role modelled her values: active participation, moderation, and healthy living. She provided outreach to elders, even while working and raising a family by herself.
She leaves a daughter, Gay Miller (Bill), and sons, Steve (Pat) and Peter (Daphne) and grandchildren Rod, and Mark; Meghan and Sarah; Courtenay, Patrick, and Christopher; great grandchildren Bryce and Chase; and Paula, Christie, Adam, Will and Alli.
All have wonderful memories of Audrey.
From her extended family Audrey also leaves three who were particularly caring and attentive: her cousin, Joy (Keith) Smith and nieces Marion (Wendy) Graham and Barbara (Colin) Heggie-Harris.
The family expresses their gratitude for the loving care Mum received, particularly during her final year and encourages donations in Audrey's name to: St. Judes Anglican Home, Vancouver.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Gardens, Qualicum Beach on Sunday, April 22 at 2:00 pm.
