BAKER, Barry Victor
Passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on August 6, 2006 in his 81st year.
Born in Moose Jaw, SK, he is survived by his oldest brother Bill (Mabel) in Cambridge, ON, George (Kae) in Victoria, BC, and sister Della Staples in Moose Jaw; daughter Lesley (Jim) Magwood in Mulhurst Bay, AB, and two grandchildren, Alecia and Jason.
Survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Betheiah (Betty) and her children, Christina (Calgary), Kathleen (Victoria), Margo (Okanagan Falls), and twins Ken (Fort Saskatchewan), Geord (Saskatoon); and several grandchildren.
Barry served in the RCN off the West Coast during the war. He was later employed by CPR as a conductor for 35 years. He was owner/manager of the Matador Steak House in Moose Jaw before moving to the coast. Barry was always proficient in all varieties of handicrafts and after settling in Parksville, he became involved in weaving and spinning, completing many fine projects.
