Betty passed away peacefully Monday April 18th, 2011 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, B.C. She was born and raised in England. Betty was a long serving Police Officer with the Metropolitan Women Police in London whose headquarters are New Scotland Yard. She also served with the British Colonial Police in Nigeria, Africa. Upon retiring, Betty chose Parksville on Vancouver Island to reside. She became a Canadian citizen and lived here for the past 31 years. She was an avid world traveller, bicyclist, naturalist, hiker, camper, photographer, master gardener and gourmet cook. She was also involved in Community Policing office. she will be sadly missed by her very good friend, Juliana, cousins, Douglas (Dorri) Barnes, Denis Barnes, Sybil Oliver, and other close friends in Canada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand. Warmest thanks to Dr. Claude Benton and the very warm and loving staff at Trillium Lodge. You were all the Wind Beneath her Wings throughout her very long ordeal.

There will be no service, by Betty’s request.
