In loving memory ~

Darryl's life was lived with purpose, and he had incredible strength of spirit. Every job he had he approached with enthusiasm and perfection. He was talented and hard-working. He enjoyed all sports, attending hockey and football games. A true blue fan. He played golf locally on a regular basis. His passion was "comedy". In his words "As long as I can remember". He entertained family and friends at a young age. When he travelled to Toronto and Halifax, work-related, he participated in stand-up. He had the complete costume of Darth Vader and gave a speech at a convention in Toronto wearing the attire, in the high humidity, his identity concealed. He went on 11 cruises from Alaska to the Caribbean with friends from Baltimore and other cities in the USA. Some of these voyages he did stand-up and once opened for Lewis Black. He hosted a comedy night at Realm in Parksville and other venues on the Island. Darryl was loved by everyone, he received excellent care from the nurses at Hospice and Stanford. From Darryl's comedy notes: "What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas".
