GRIEVE, David William
Dave was born January 31, 1951 in Fort Langley, BC to Bob and Janet Grieve and he passed away on January 27th, 2007 with his family’s love surrounding him.
Dave met his wife Debbie in Fort Langley where they were both raised. They were married November 25, 1972 and Dave began his career driving truck for Safeway. While living in Aldergrove, Dave and Debbie had their two children, Gerry (“Bear”) and Shauneen. In March 1981, Dave changed careers and together with Debbie they bought their dairy farm in Parksville. Dave’s life was full of love, friendship, fun, family, and hard work. Farmer Dave, as he was known to most, was an amazing friend to the many people he knew. He was known for his honesty, integrity, generous spirit, great sense of humour, and his love for Harleys and John Deere tractors. He could almost certainly bring a smile to anyone’s face. One of Dave’s gifts was of the bond he had with kids. He loved teaching them anything, from riding bikes, to jokes and tricks, and getting them to perform for treats. He was especially fond and proud of his beloved grandchildren: Ethan, Jaiden and Naia. Those of us that crossed paths with Dave and had the pleasure of his company are truly fortunate. He will be so greatly missed by all and he will live on in our hearts and memories.
A memorial service for Dave will be held at the Bradley Centre at 3:00pm on Saturday February 3rd followed by a celebration of Dave’s life from 5:00pm - 12:00am. Dinner will be potluck so bring your favourite dish.
