Doreen Beatrice McLean

April 30, 1918 – January 4, 2015

Doreen Beatrice McLean (nee Hucks), passed away in Comox, BC on January 4, 2015 at the age of 96 with her family by her side.

Doreen was born April 30, 1918 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to parents Frank and Winnie Hucks. She resided in Qualicum Bay since 1952, where she raised three children and was a lifetime member of the Qualicum Beach Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch76, a lifetime member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and a member of the OAP. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Kym McLean, daughter Marilyn McLean Buckly, sister Kathleen Hucks and her husband John C. McLean.

Left to mourn her passing are sons Philip McLean, and Christopher McLean (Danni) of Qualicum Beach, grandchildren Brent McLean of Victoria , Pamela Marinus (James) of Campbell River, Christina McLean (John), Angus McLean (Jill) of Edmonton, great grandchildren, Kaisha (Erik) of Grand Prairie, Aaron, Breanna, Hayden, Kaleb, Samantha and one great-great grandchild Caroline.

A Red Leaf Service will be held at the

Qualicum Beach Legion at 2:00 pm Sunday

January 18, 2015. Refreshments to follow.

Memorial contributions are welcome at Covenant House or the Canadian Legion Poppy fund.
