Douglas Bruce MacGregor

April 20, 1926 – August 23, 2013

Doug passed away peacefully at Arrowsmith Lodge on Friday, August 23, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Alice; sons, Bruce (Ketty) of Los Angles California and William of Toronto Ontario; daughter, Heather (Frank) Shute of Milton Ontario; brothers-in-law, Bob Belanger, Camille (Gisele) Duteau, Edmond (Nicole) Duteau; sisters-in-law, Stella Muise of Pincourt, Dorothy Taylor of Oliver, BC, Irene (Steven) Ross of Brantford, Ontario; grand daughter, Natalie of Los Angles California, as well as a large extended family.

Doug was born in Montreal, Quebec to William and Mary MacGregor. He worked at McGill University as a photographer for the Geography Department. Doug’s career spilled over into other areas of his life when he began taking wedding photos as a hobby. In 1987, he and Alice moved to BC. Here they formed many happy connections as volunteers with the Society of Organized Services (SOS). They also enjoyed square dancing and were active members of several clubs in the mid island area.

The family would like to thank the staff of Arrowsmith Lodge and Dr Henderson for the loving care that they provided to Doug during his last years.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on

Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St Columba

Presbyterian Church, 921 Wembley Road in

Parksville with Reverend Robert Kerr officiating.
