Edward (Ted) James Walker

1944-2014

Ted was born in Vancouver to Ozwald and Constance (Eccles) Walker in 1944. In 1957, the family moved to Williams Lake. He worked for L J Milner from 1960-1974 in Forestry Consulting. L J remained Ted’s lifetime friend, later becoming a partner in the Ucluelet Lodge.

Ted and his first wife, Lynn Devuyst, had two girls Erin and Alisha. He moved to Ucluelet in 1974 where he operated the Ucluelet Lodge and was an active member of the Fire Brigade until 1991.

In 1988, Ted married Wendy Hurford and in 1992 their son, Roy Walker joined the family. Ted learned to ride and show Hunter/Jumpers with Wendy and his daughters and later Roy.

Ted served on the Clayquot Regional District as Director from 1982 to 1985. He was a member of the Court of Revision from 1986 to 1990.

In 2002, the family moved to Tickle Wood Farm in Qualicum where Wendy and Roy continue to teach equestrian sports. Ted’s passion of late has been cowboy action shooting.

He will be missed by his wife Wendy; son, Roy, daughters, Alisha (Robin) and Erin (Troy): grandchildren, Aiden and Tyler Boyes and Sophia and Ethan Enns.

A Celebration of Ted’s life will be held

at Noon on Thursday, December 4th

at the Courtenay Fish and Game Club,

3780 Colake Road (Lake Trail Road) at

Comox Lake. Put on your best

“cowboy” attire and join the

family in honouring Ted.
