Passed away peacefully on October 16, 2012. Eleanor is survived by her daughter Judi, grandchildren Anita and Kyle (Natacha) and great grandchildren Danika and Nathan. She also leaves behind her sister Muriel Pedersen and many nieces and nephews located across Canada. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Keith and brothers, Lawrence and Charles Spurr.
Eleanor was born in Clarence, Nova Scotia on January 1, 1921 and married her “much younger” husband Keith on June 26, 1943. The family moved to the city of Toronto in 1947 and retired to Qualicum Beach in 1989 enjoying a blissful retirement “the best move we ever made”.
As the “matriarch” of the family Eleanor will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends, but we can take comfort knowing that in spirit she has been reunited with her dear husband Keith.
Her family extends many thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo General Hospital and The Gardens staff in Qualicum Beach for their care and compassion.
Mom between 6:30 and 7:00 every evening you will be in my thoughts.
