Elizabeth (Betty) ROOME
After so many blissful years of marriage, my wonderful wife and best friend left me on Saturday, Dec 22nd to be in the arms of her loving parents Theresa and Tony Rist. Betty was born on March 3, 1935 in Kendal, Saskatchewan. She worked in the advertising department of the Regina Leader Post for twenty-five years until her retirement. Her early retirement years were spent at Kannata Valley, Saskatchewan with winters in Brownsville, Texas. In 1997, Betty and Merle moved to Qualicum Beach, BC where they spent many happy years. Betty loved to travel, garden and be with friends. Left to mourn and cherish her spirit are her devoted husband Merlin; step-daughter Terry Cyca (Greg) of Regina; granddaughters Stephanie and Jacelyn Cyca of Regina; sister Helen Schneider (Don Ewald) of Wapaton, North Dakota and many relatives and friends.
At Betty’s request there will be no service.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Trillium Lodge for the kindness and care they provided Betty. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty may be made to Shrine Hospital in care of the Parksville/Qualicum Shrine Club.
