Frances Margaret (Frannie)
DOBINSON (née Bartlett)
Born October 19, 1930 in Qualicum Beach, BC, Fran died peacefully on January 17, 2014,
after a battle with cancer, at home in Qualicum Beach and surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by beloved husband Robert (Bob), and brother Henry (Harry). She will be sadly missed by daughter Kathy, son Bob (Heather), grandsons Michael and Matthew, brother Arthur (Lorraine), sister-in-law Dianne, and nieces and nephews.
Frannie was an elementary school teacher and librarian in Qualicum and Parksville for many years, and always had a special love for her kids. She was a long-time member of St. Stephen’s United Church and its UCW, and a dedicated volunteer for the church and Community Meals.
We are so grateful to Drs. Martin and Rieger, and the Island Health (VIHA) nurses (especially Alana Williams) and home care workers for the exceptional and compassionate palliative care and family support they provided during our dear mother’s illness.
Frannie was grateful for all the special friends she’d had over the years, particularly Maggie, ever faithful, and we would like to express a heartfelt thank you also to them for their love and support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday,
January 25, 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s United Church (150 Village Way, Qualicum Beach).
