Gary Wayne King passed away on October 27, 2015 in Lions Gate Hospital surrounded by
the love of his mother, brother and sisters.
Gary was born in Whitehorse, Yukon to Frank and Agnes King, the sixth of eight children.
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his mother Agnes King; brothers Pat, Bob (Robert)
and Greg; sisters Fran Henney (Al), June Janits and Joy Ruttle; 14 nieces and nephews;
and 16 great-nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his father Frank King and
brother Sunny (Frank) King Jr.
Gary lived the majority of his life in Whitehorse, where from a young age he had a love for
the outdoors, fishing and camping. He had a great appreciation for music, expressed his
creativity through various crafts and enjoyed dabbling with gardening. Gary was involved
in the Whitehorse Martial Arts community for many years. From 1995 to 2005 Gary lived
in Parksville, British Columbia where he continued his love of fishing and expanded his
gardening to include fruit trees and grape vines.
Gary will be lovingly remembered as a caring, compassionate person who always wore a
smile on his face.
A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held in the late spring/early summer of 2016.
In lieu of flowers, Gary would prefer donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society
with a specific designation to Liver Research.
