September 14, 1931 – May 20, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Papa, Gerry Potter, on May 20th 2017. Predeceased by his loving daughter, Davina and grandson, Daniel. Papa will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of almost 60 years, Doris; cherished granddaughter Tianay (Matt) and his adored great granddaughter Mya; his brothers Ron (Eileen) and Ken; his sister-in-law Audrey (Jim) and brother-in-law Tom (Emma); and many family members and close friends. Gerry was born in Saskatchewan before moving to Vancouver, returning each summer to his childhood home to work on the family farm. He married his wife and best friend in August 1957. Together they moved to Australia where their daughter was born. They returned home to Surrey where Gerry spent many years working as a well-respected supervisor in the chemical industry. In 1998, Gerry and family moved to Qualicum Beach. Gerry will be remembered for his honesty, hard work and strong family values. You will forever be loved and will remain in our hearts always. We miss you. Service will be held on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 1:30 pm at St. Mark’s Anglican Church (138 Hoylake Rd W) Qualicum Beach. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Gerry’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
