Our hearts are broken our Nana is gone. Ida passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side. Mom will be missed by her daughter Joan (Roel), and son Bob (Marlene). She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren Carrie (Ryan), Lorne (Shinobu), Thomas (Ashley), Gillian (Colin) and her great grandchildren Aquila, Haruka, Kai, William, Alliza, and Ethan. Nana was predeceased by her husband Tom, and her daughter Nona, also two brothers Floyd and Norman and their spouses.
Born in Saskatchewan, Nana had a happy loving family which enabled her to be such a fantastic wife, mom and grandmother. Later she attended beauty school but gave it all up to marry dad in 1951 and move to Trail, BC where she happily raised their three children then later retiring to Vancouver Island in 1998.
Nana loved the simple things in life, family, gardening, curling and going to the movies with her grandson-in-law Ryan. Family dinners at her daughters house was always a favourite then riding in one of her son-in-law Roels antique cars to the beach for ice cream. Everyone should have a Nana like you.
There will be no funeral service at moms request.
We know you will rest in peace with Nona and Dad. We love you.
