Isabella Jean Farkus
April 11, 1942 – March 12, 2016
Our dear Isabella passed away on March 12, 2016 following a valiant effort to overcome cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe; her children Patrick and Angela, as well as her grandchildren Carl James, Nile and Stellar, brother John (Carmen) and many friends.
Born in Victoria, BC Isabella grew up in Duncan. Later she worked in the fashion business in Victoria, also taking on modeling assignments. A long time resident of Parksville, Isabella met Joe while both were acting in a church play, marrying five months later. Her loving concern for Joe was constant to the end.
Isabella lived life to the fullest, even in her last month, when she travelled to Ottawa with a church team to pray for our government and country.
Isabella’s creativity emerged in her flair for fashion, her beautiful and productive gardens, artistic paintings, and delicious culinary presentations. She had a love for God and people, generously using her many talents to bless others.
Isabella was someone you could always rely on to brighten your day. Some people are special members of the community who radiate positivity and friendliness. Isabella was one such person. She was a bright ray of sunshine for her friends and family alike, and always a source of encouragement, interest and positive energy.
We will miss her warm, kind and confident presence, bright smile and the joy that she, without fail, always added to our lives.
A memorial service will be held on April 2, 2016
at 1:00 pm at the Christian Fellowship Centre,
825 Village Way, Qualicum Beach, BC.
