James Bruce McLeod

April 6th, 1957 - January 21st, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of James Bruce McLeod announce his passing on Saturday, January 21st, 2017. Bruce passed away peacefully in the home he built with his loving family at his side. Bruce is survived by his wife of thirty seven years, Stephanie McLeod. Left to mourn are their children, Stuart (Mikayla) McLeod, Karen McLeod, and Colleen (Dayton) Ferris, as well as his grandson, Carter Ferris.

Bruce was born on April 6th, 1957 in Kelvington, SK. He is the youngest of four, survived by siblings Merle (Bernie) Bailas, Regina SK, Heather (Hank) Klassen, Parksville, BC and Robert (Kathy) McLeod, Parksville, BC. Bruce was predeceased by nephew, Brian Gordon (2008) and his parents, Margaret McLeod (2001) and Fred McLeod (2013). Bruce was survived by many nieces and nephews in BC and SK.

Bruce lived in Errington since 1968. For many years, he owned and operated a successful auto upholstery business. Later, he went on to complete many projects as a carpenter/handyman. Bruce enjoyed his time outdoors; prospecting, hiking, and camping with his family and friends. The highlight of his life was his family and his faith in God. Bruce’s joy was the arrival of his grandson, Carter, in July; the bond between the two was very special.

The family would like to say a special thank you to friends and family for the support they’ve received at this time. A special thank you to Dr. L. McClure, Dr. Marlene Van der Weyde, the home nursing and home support team.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at the
