August 13, 1944 – July 10, 2022
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of James (Jim) Murray Gordon Walker of Nanoose Bay, BC, on July 10th, 2022 at the age of 77 years.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Faye; daughter, Jamie; grandchildren, Taylor and Tianna; siblings Garry (Lois), Murray (Priscilla), Dorinda (Rob), as well as other relatives, in-laws, numerous friends and car enthusiasts.
He was predeceased by his mother (Peggy) and father (James). Jim was a very devoted and caring husband and father but the light of his life were his two grandchildren, Taylor and Tianna.
Jim was born in Colchester, England and immigrated to Canada when he eight years old. He always considered England his true home and had many fond memories of living and visiting there. Jim had two passions in his life the first being his career as a millwright and, secondly, his love of old cars and in particular his little yellow 1929 Essex which he built from scratch and drove with so much pride.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of the Cardiac ICU, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital; Dr. Michael Berman for being such an incredible doctor; Dr. Bradley Bell for always being there when we needed him, and in particular, to the staff of Hospice at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, for their care and compassion.
At Jim’s request, no service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Fairwinds Golf Club in Nanoose Bay. All Hot Rods and Classic Cars welcome.
Memorial donations may be made in Jim’s name to Trillium Lodge Hospice, Oceanside Hospice Society, 210 Crescent Road West, Qualicum Beach, BC, V9K 1J9
