Jan Hendrik "Henk" Groenewold

Henk Groenewold passed from this world into the gracious arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on September 24, 2022.
Born on November 7, 1929 in Groningen, The Netherlands, Dad began a career in the merchant navy following the war. In 1954 he married Tine Eelhart and immigrated to Canada to adopt children. They first lived in Alberta and after a few years moved to BC where the family settled.
Dad had a successful career working as a marine engineer and then later as an engineer in the pulp and paper industry.
Dad loved to travel and visit family and friends in Holland, California and Edmonton. In retirement he spent countless hours filming and producing videos of the adventures of his life as well as producing videos for family and friends.
Dad's faith and trust in God endured through his life.
Henk leaves behind his children Margaret McCabe (Steve), Michael (Bev), Harold, Evelyn Mathesius (Curt), and stepchildren Leslie Pocha (Steve) and Jerad; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wives Tine (nee Eelhart, 1989), Teena (Hamming, 2007), grandson, Nathan (Bowling) and his friend Liz Burks.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Delta Funeral Home, Ladner, B.C.
