July 23, 1944 – Calgary, Alberta, September 8, 2016

John Rockley, beloved father and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept 8, 2016 at the age of 72 years. He will be forever missed for his love of life and infectious, positive attitude by all who knew him. His love, support and kindness will be treasured always by his sons, Marshall (Whitney), Cam (Shirley) and Spencer who predeceased him on February 9, 1995. His humor and genuine love for his grandchildren, Rowan, Kasey, Logan, Kendal and Mason will be carried with them always. Being a Father and Grandfather filled him with joy and pride. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings: Kendra (Bob), Paul (Clara), Keith (Sunita) and his many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents; Carson and Margaret Rockley. John was a true friend, gentleman, businessman and consummate optimist at heart. He had a genuine entrepreneurial passion and skill in business. His printing career included Davis & Henderson in Toronto and Calgary, Commercial Printing and Unicom Graphics. In 2005 he became the proud owner & operator of Coastal Colour Printing in Parksville BC. John was a very active member of the Rotary Club in Calgary, Parksville and The Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce. Charity events and helping others was always forefront for John. He was a founding member of the Willow Park Classic Golf Tournament Committee starting in 1988 and was proud of the charitable dollars it has raised for the Calgary community. His passion for the outdoors was strong. He spent as much time as he could playing golf, skiing, hiking, biking, and recently tried fly fishing. He also loved to travel especially the travel to see family in Ireland. John’s golf memberships at Willow Park Golf & Country Club in Calgary and Pheasant Glenn in Qualicum Beach were his “home away from home”. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E.) Calgary, AB on Friday, September 16 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com” A Celebration of Johns life will also be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pheasant Glen Golf Resort, Qualicum Beach, BC.
