August 10, 1932 - November 20, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Joyce Eileen Webster (nee Airth), on November 20, 2020. Joyce, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 10, 1932, was 88 years young.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce, of 62 years. Joyce was a vivacious and fun-loving woman who will be remembered with fondness by many friends and family. She had a wonderful, sometimes mischievous, sense of humor and quick wit, which often helped friends and family cope with difficult times.
She enjoyed music, played the piano, loved to dance, and would often be heard singing a tune.... not always in tune, but always with a smile on her face.
Joyce enjoyed playing cards, puzzles and board games such as Chess, Mahjong and Bridge... her friends, children and grandchildren were no match for her skills. She was fortunate enough to travel extensively to Europe, Australia, Caribbean, Cook Islands, Hawaii, Mexico, and Thailand throughout her life with her husband Bruce.
Joyce and Bruce also spent many summers on their boat "Legacy" discovering Desolation Sound, the Sunshine Coast, the Gulf Islands and many favorite fishing spots. She was the First Mate, galley cook, deckhand, and avid fisher.
She also loved to cook and showcased her creativity and talent by writing two cookbooks and teaching microwave cooking classes.
She will be remembered with much love and affection by her four children, Lynn Webster ( Michael Robinson), Jeffrey Webster ( Shirley Webster), Lesley LaCouvée (Francis LaCouvée), and Scott Webster (Deb Killam), her very special friend Al Bingham, and her nine grandchildren; Lance, Caitlyn, Troy, Ryan, Connor, Kai, Aslan, Finn and Sisley.
Joyce passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and Al at The Gardens, where she received outstanding and compassionate care in the palliative care unit. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Kidney Foundation.
There will be a celebration of life for Joyce in the summer of 2021, when we can gather together to celebrate the life of our dear mother, grandmother, and friend.
