It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Classen on what would have been her birthday tomorrow. A beautiful person, mother & wife. Joyce passed away peacefully with her husband of 67 years, Eldred at her side.
Joyce began her life back in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and moved to Parksville on Vancouver Island in 1944, and to Nanaimo just after where it wasn't too long before she met the man she would spend the next 67 years of her life with, Eldred.
Joyce loved her life gardening, taking in stray cats and spending time with Eldred and their only son Brent, who predeceased his mother in 2015. Joyce's heart broke on that day and she never recovered from the loss.
If one can die from a broken heart, Joyce did. Today we remember all the great times Joyce had throughout life, our great times with her, all the love & the laughs, and take solace in knowing that she is at peace now with her son Brent.
Donations would be gratefully accepted in Joyce's name to the Nanaimo SPCA.
