In Loving Memory ~
Gramma, Momma, and retired teacher Kelly Hannon lost a short, but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 64. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her loved ones, who will keep her spirit alive by practicing patience, kindness, and courage in their every day lives.
Kelly had a love for learning, in particular, early childhood education. After raising her own children, Kelly returned to the classroom as a grade 1 teacher. There, she left a legacy of literacy, teaching hundreds of children the gift of reading and writing.
When not in the classroom, she could usually be found curled up on a chair reading a good book or enjoying a walk in nature with her devoted husband.
Kelly was a spiritual mentor, and provided guidance to many new parents as they navigated the early days of parenthood. Her legacy will live on through the wisdom she passed on.
Kelly's greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she showed the same devotion as a grandmother as she did as a mother. Her grandkids loved spending time with Gramma playing pooh sticks, baking cookies, singing songs, and listening to stories. Each moment spent with Gramma was filled with love.
She was a courageous protector to those she loved, but it was her gentle nature and calming energy which she was known best for.
Kelly will be so deeply missed by her husband Paul, her children Christopher(Stephanie), Justin(Kerry-Lee), Meagan(Wilson), and her grandchildren June, Elsie, Harry, Abigail and Hugo.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada at www.cysticfibrosis.ca or Nature Conservancy of Canada at www.natureconservancy.ca
