Kendall Nelson Murley

May 17, 1923 – Dec. 19, 2012

Passed away suddenly in Parksville, BC.

Leaves behind wife Beatrice of 60 years, daughter Sharon (Ken), grandchildren Rory (Sara), Brandi (Clifford), Tristan and Eli, great grandchildren Mia and Liane.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts raised in Nova Scotia he joined the Royal Canadian Signal Corps in 1942. He was a radio and electronic technician posted to Aklavik, BeaverLodge, Ladner, Massett and a variety of locations across the country. Ken met Bea in Vancouver and they settled on the coast for the most part spending some time at Eagle Bay and then moving to Vancouver Island in 1990.

Ken, dad, grandpa, great grandpa will be remembered as a kind and gentle man to both people and animals. He is respected by his son-in-law and grandsons as being a skilled carpenter building three family homes. His strong hands seem skilled at whatever task he took up – boat building, auto repair, electrical, gardening, and cross words. Memories of his beach combing, building block towers with his grandchildren or simply having him fix nearly any broken thing will be treasured by the family always.
