After moving to Vancouver they settled in West Vancouver where he enjoyed gardening, making home improvements, and the pool at their home overlooking Bowen and Passage Islands. While they were in West Van., Ken and family were long time members of the West Vancouver Yacht Club where he sailed and raced “Maverick” the boat he built and later “Periwinkle” a Viking 33.
They also enjoyed long and short visits to their condominium in Sarasota, Florida where they made many friends. After retirement Mom and Dad moved to their townhouse in Parksville on the Morningstar Golf Course where he enjoyed playing golf and they both worked in the garden.
Dad spent the final months of his life in the care of Judy Parsons and her friendly staff at Dover House in Nanaimo. He is survived by his wife Betty Doreen, their sons, Phil and his wife Maureen (Halifax, Nova Scotia), Craig and his wife Maxine (Coquitlam, BC) as well as his granddaughter Karen, her partner Cameron and finally his great-grandson Russell (Boston, Mass.)
