Born in Sexsmith Alberta and later raised in Port Alberni BC, Ken spent his best life playing Rock 'n' Roll music with his friends.
His fun, easy going nature, kindness, willingness to help out a friend, and openness to accept people without judgement won him many long lasting, beautiful relationships, one of the longest being his marriage to Winifred for more than 53 years.
He worked as a machinist and fixed cars, but more importantly he was an incredible dancer, excellent drummer, the finest father, and a loyal, loving husband.
He is survived by a large community of family and friends: his little sister Sharon, nieces Laura and Leslie of predeceased older sister Ruth, his band mates from the Saints, Rockit "88, and the Elderly Brothers which includes Don, Dan, Gerry, Howie, Bill, Brent, Denny, Keith, J.T., Craig, and Neil to name a few.
Also predeceased by his close musician friends Barry, and Henning.
He left no doubt in our hearts he was proud of, and loved his children and their families: His son Leon and wife Michelle and her parents Brad and wife Sharon, his daughter Leslie and her husband Adam and their 2 kids Henning and Frances Love.
For nearly 40 years, Ken encouraged musicians young and old to play in his studio and on his backyard stage at Song Farm, a weekend music festival we all enjoyed and looked forward to. He inspired us with his passion for music, his values, his hard work, his loyalty, vulnerability and strength.
He passed on quickly and without suffering, which is how he wanted to go, with the wood neatly stacked and his family at his side.
Rest easy, dad. You will live on in the memories and accomplishments of everyone you helped, encouraged, and inspired along the way.
