Kenneth Spence Foubister

FOUBISTER, Kenneth Spence August 7, 1921 – January 5, 2005

Ken passed away peacefully on January 5, 2005 after a brief illness. This loving husband, father, grandfather and and great-grandfather will be greatly missed by his family; wife Ann, daughters Kathleen (Sandy) VanCamp, Fay (Steve) Potter, and Elaine LeBlanc; grandchildren Debbie (Lee), Chris (Danielle), Sarah (Colin), Kristine, Derek, and Laura; great-grandchildren Cassidy, Reece and Brookelyn. Married to Ann, his sweetheart of 62 years, the entire family was a constant source of joy and pride for him. he was adored by his grandchildren, who have many happy memories of Grandpa. His three daughters were so proud of their special dad. Ken’s friendliness and keen sense of humour drew people to him and he loved to make them laugh. Long-time residents of North Vancouver, Ken and Ann retired to Vancouver Island where Ken was active in many groups including the Courtenay Rock Club, the Oyster River Enhancement Society, Friends of the Library and the United Church. He was also an active member of the B.C. Faceters Club. The family would like to thank Dr. David Bowler, Rev. Maggie Enwright, their beloved minister, and the nurses on the 2nd floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox for their compassionate care through this difficult time. There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, BC V9M 1P2.
