Lorraine Carol ASPDEN
January 2, 1943 – April 4, 2016
Lorraine, known as Carol to family and friends, passed peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of NRGH on Monday, April 4th with her husband by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dan; sister, Arlene Watkin; brother, Reg Fryling; stepdaughter, Cathie, Wally and Keenan Thacker; stepson, David, Karen and Lauren Aspden; nieces and nephews, Shelly and Bruce, Tracy and Robin, Wendy, Jen and Mamoud, Heather and Colin, and Chris and Sarah; cousins, Gary and Roberta, Ed and Penny, Norman and Lila, and Pat and Jake.
Carol had a fabulous and fulfilling life of family, flying, sailing and travelling the world. Born in Calgary, Alberta Carol lived in Jasper, Inuvik, Banff and Nanoose Bay.
The family’s heartfelt thank you goes out to all those involved in Carol’s care during her illness, especially Dr Peter Haslett of Qualicum Beach, the Palliative Care team at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, the staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, and the Oceanside Heath Care Centre in Parksville.
Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will
be held for Carol at a later date.
