March 3, 1933 - March 25, 2020
Lorraine found her way home March 25, 2020. Eldest daughter of Walter Oliver Dahlquist and Betsy May Burgess, Lorraine was born in Vancouver, BC, March 3, 1933 and was raised by Betsy, alongside brothers Bob and Walter and sister Deanna, with the help of dear friends Dora and Carl.
Her family moved to Alberni in 1949. Lorraine graduated from ADHS and began her secretarial career at the plywood plant in 1951. She was involved in community theatre before her marriage to Joe Perpick in 1956; she and Joe were active members of the Gyro Club. Lorraine worked for the AV Chamber of Commerce while raising her kids, later for the pulp mill, and after moving to Victoria in 1987, for Camosun College's trades & technology department, retiring in 1998 to a contented life filled with golf, travel and her family. Nana's grandchildren (the "big kids" and the little ones) meant everything to her.
Lorraine was generous, fun loving and kind. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her son Jody Perpick (Maria), daughters Leslie Prpich (Chris), Betsy Woppenkamp, and Renee Watts (Mike); husband Franz Zenti; his kids: Maria Perpick (Jody), Kathy Zenti (Murray), Don Zenti (Shawna); grandkids Cole Perpick (Catherine), Joey Macey (Tyler), Emma Macey (Derek), Jesse Dardengo (Jasmine), Steven Dardengo (Danielle), Nick Woppenkamp (Jennifer), Cody Woppenkamp, Danielle Woppenkamp (Rick), Hughie Watts, Adrianna Watts, Anna Zenti Croome, Dominic, Keegan and Matthew Zenti, Ella Broekhuizen; great-grandkids: Finley Perpick, Connor and Nora Macey, Rylan and Ben Macey, Ilsabeth and Sebastian Woppenkamp, Olin Leblanc; sisters-in-law Marguerite Dahlquist and Pat Dahlquist; many nieces, nephews, friends.
The family sincerely thanks Laura Braun and her magnificent staff at Qualicum Manor for the loving care they gave our sweet Lorraine. Flowers gratefully declined. No service.
