Lydia was born March 4th, 1913 in Port Melon B.C. on the Sunshine Coast. She passed away peacefully July 7th, 2011 at The Gardens in Qualicum Beach.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, David in 1998. Lydia is survived by her son Ron Forshner (Yvette), daughter Barb Laplante ( Marcel), Grand children Brad Forshner (Janet), Lynnae Redmann (Jim), René Guerrier (Darrel) and Chad Laplante. Great Grandchildren Kyle, Annette, Naomi, Jared, Tyrel, Derrick, Shelby, Kailey and Gabrielle. Brother Jim Capustinsky (Florence), Sisters Anna Hrychuk and Eva Buck.

One of 16 brothers and sisters, Lydia lived in Alberta where she met and married her husband Dave. They lived throughout B.C. and settled in Errington on a small hobby farm raising, showing and caring for horses until they retired and moved to French Creek. She spent the last 12 years living in her own home on her daughter and son in laws’ farm in Coombs with her lovely dog Maggie always close by. She loved her garden, was a fabulous cook and loved talking and visiting with her friends and family.

Her service was held at the Yates Chapel in Parksville, July 12th 2011.
