Lynne Carol Beyer

December 23, 1946 - October 7, 2013

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lynne; beloved wife to Gunter, adoring mother to Alana, Matthew and daughter-in-law, Daniella. She was a proud grandmother to Cade and Lukas Beyer, whom she loved beyond words. Lynne passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.

Lynne was born into a pioneer family. She spent her younger years playing piano and figure skating in the beautiful orchard valley of Creston, B.C. and later moved to Victoria, B.C. It was in Victoria where she began her career working for the government as a secretary. Soon after, Lynne fell in love with a young soccer player, Gunter Beyer. They were happily married in 1971. In 1979, Lynne and Gunter moved to Qualicum Beach where they raised their twin children in a cozy log home that they built. From then on, they never left their homestead in the woods.

Lynne will be sadly missed: an incredibly loving and generous lady with a feisty spirit and courageous soul. Through hard times with her health, Lynne never gave up, defying miraculous odds in order to spend more joyous moments with her family. In keeping with her promise, Lynne will continue to watch over us for years to come.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for Dr. Feick, VIHA (Oceanside Home Support Services) and the staff of NRGH for the compassionate care Lynne received over the years. We would also like to thank our many treasured family and friends. The love extended by the Beyer Family, the Hook Family, Elma and Cecil Trumbley and Maureen Campbell made Lynne’s journey bearable. Finally, thank you to all the soccer friends on the island for the support and kind wishes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
