Maggie was born and raised in Richmond Hill, ON, the youngest child of Jack and Mariane Passmore.
Upon graduating from Langstaff SS, she attended Queen's University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree. Always an avid sportsperson, she enjoyed being a downhill ski instructor which brought her out west to teach at Whistler. She finally settled in the Oceanside area for the past 30+ years.
Maggie was a gentle soul that advocated for the disadvantaged and always looked for the best in others, becoming a disability tax credit specialist in her later years. This well-loved and respected woman gave her time and expertise to many local organizations - the SPCA, Restorative Justice, Special Olympics, Life Line, Spirit Well, Knox Youth Group - are just a few of the organizations.
She was also active in the local senior's centre and in the Strata Council at The Meadows.
Left to mourn are Maggie's family from Ontario - sister, Nancy Krill, and brother, John Passmore (Linda); nephews David Krill (Marlene), Graham Krill (Christine), Shane Passmore (Maria) and Todd Passmore and all of their children. Maggie will be missed by many, especially her long-time close friend, Ingrid Busch.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Knox United Church, 345 Pym St, Parksville on Saturday, February 3rd at 2:00 pm with Rev. Hilde Seale officiating.
