Eily Hilda Mayfield (nee Bridger)
August 12, 1914 – October 29, 2014
Eily passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Trillium Lodge, Parksville. Mum had celebrated her 100th birthday on August 12th this past summer, and had a wonderful time. Sincere thanks to the staff at Trillium for making that day so special, and for always providing loving, compassionate care.
Eily was predeceased by her husband Gerry, her brother Douglas, and her sisters Eva and Ada. She is survived by her daughters Daphne (Tom) and Barbara; nephew Steven; and niece Janice (Jim).
Mum’s first concern was her family, but she also devoted herself to looking after people in her community. She was a volunteer at the S.O.S. for many years, and an active member of St. Edmund’s, eventually becoming a Life Member of the Altar Guild.
A memorial service will be held at St. Edmund’s Anglican Church, 407 Wembley Road, Parksville on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 1:30 pm
with reception to follow.
