NANCY HOLLIS

October 25, 1924 - August 4, 2013

Nancy Hollis of Qualicum Beach passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the age of 88 years.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband Albert Hollis, her parents Paul and Pauline Borisenko, brother Peter, and sisters Kathleen, Anne, Mary and Dorothy. Nancy is lovingly remembered by her sisters Christine, Pauline, Nell, Lillian (Ken), Betty and Clarese (Stan), and brothers John (Clara), William, Edward (Iris) and David. Nancy is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.

Nancy was born in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan and as a young adult she moved to Toronto, taking a wartime job at International Aero where she met her future husband Bert. She finished her working career at Buntin Reid Paper Co. and upon Bert’s retirement in 1976 they moved to Parksville where she was in her glory tending her beautiful garden.

She loved entertaining, sewing, knitting and needlepoint. Everyone looked forward to a dinner invitation from Nancy. She was a member of Knox United Church in Parksville where she was very active for over 20 years working on bake and plant sales, catering, and tending to the outside flowers and plants. No job was too big for Nancy to tackle.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff at Qualicum Manor where Nancy spent her last two years. Donations in Nancy’s honor may be made to The Alzheimer Society of BC, 300 - 828w 8th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 1E2, or to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at

Yates Funeral Service, 1000 Allsbrook Road,

Parksville, on Monday, September 9, 2013 at

2:00 p.m. by Stanley.
