Olive Maud Lancaster (nee Duguay)

1919 - 2012

Passed away peacefully at her home in Parksville, B.C. on Tuesday, November 6th, at the age of 92. Olive was born in L’Anse au Gascons on the Gaspe Peninsula on November 29th, 1919. In 2010 she moved from Knowlton,Quebec to Parksville, B.C. to live with her daughter Lorna.

Loving mother of Eric (Greta), Lynda (Richard Coates), Lorna (Norm Allard), Sandra (Regent Jauniaux), Gordon, Danny, Mary (Jean Guy Lachance), Donny (Kelly Clarke), and Lori (Bob Graham), and mother-in-law of Shelah (Bruce Lancaster). She will be greatly missed by 21 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and many great, and great-great grandchildren. Olive also leaves to mourn, her beloved sister Eileen (William Lancaster) of Columbus, New Jersey and her loving brother Willis Duguay of Kanora, Ont., sisters-in-law Lorna Duguay of Port Daniel, Quebec and Aurore Duguay of Valleyfield, Quebec, and brother-in-law Paul Bedell of New Hampshire. Olive will be fondly remembered by all of her nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends and extended family on the east and west coasts and many points between. She was predeceased by her husband Russell Lancaster, son Bruce Lancaster, and brothers, Russell, Carl and William Duguay.

For her west coast family, and her many friends in the Parksville area, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 at Jericho Road Church, Parksville (corner of Jensen & McMillan in the Salvation Army building).

As per Olive’s wishes, a funeral service was held on Nov. 17th, in her home town of Knowlton, Quebec. Her ashes will be interred at the Bishopton, Quebec Cemetery at a later date.
