In loving memory ~
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Phil. He was born in England and moved to Ottawa in 1969 to pursue a career as a professional engineer specializing in the production of radiation therapy and imaging machinery. He worked his entire career at the same company and retired as Vice President.
Before he retired he was very involved in set design with community theatre and continued this passion as well as golf and music, especially piano playing, when he moved to Qualicum Beach in 1998 with his loving wife Maureen. Together they developed strong connections with the community through Newcomers Club Odyssey, ECHO players, Memorial Golf Club, Heritage Forest Preservation Society, bridge club and symphony group.
He had a true passion for family and took great pride in his daughters and grandchildren and their accomplishments over the years. He was an inspiration to them all. He was always kind, generous, dedicated, dependable, and fought with courage, strength and determination right to the end. He was surrounded by the love of his family in his final moments and will be greatly missed by his wife Moe of 32 years, his daughters Lynn (Derek) Lisa (Ted) and grandchildren Kale, Kristin and Samantha as well as his siblings, extended family and many friends.
Phil's family encourages those who wish to remember him in a tangible way to make a donation to either the BC Cancer Foundation or the Palliative Care Unit-Nanaimo Hospital Foundation.
