Richard Dunn
November 14, 1952 - August 20, 2016
Parksville, B.C. - Rick “The Book Guy” passed away at age 63 on August 20 with his family by his side after a battle with cancer.
A native of Moncton, NB, Rick lived in Hay River, Prince George and Victoria, before settling in Parksville. Rick shared equally his passion for family, the great outdoors and golf.
Rick leaves behind his wife Marlene, stepson Neale, stepdaughter Karen, grandgirl Cassie, and grandboy Thomas, sister Carolyn Walsh, of Moncton, NB, brother David (Michelle) of Shediac, NB, sister-in-law Mabel Dunn and nephew David Dunn of Victoria, BC, and nieces Constable Tiffany Dunn of Grand Prairie Alta, and Meghan Walsh (Brad Cross) of Moncton, NB.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Eugene William Dunn and Rita Collins, and earlier this year by his brother and best friend Bill.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the BC Transplant Society, the BC Cancer Society, as well as the Hospice Nurses, LPN’s, care aids, Dr. Waite, Dr. Van Der Weyde & many volunteers @ Trillium Hospice.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on
Saturday, September 17, 2016, 1-4 P.M. at the
Royal Canadian Legion, Lantzville, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick’s name to the Transplant Society of BC.
