Richard Patrick Leduke Wilson

February 27, 1964 – April 30, 2016

Rick passed away suddenly, on April 30, 2016 at his residence in Errington, at the age of 52.

He was pre-deceased by older brother Mark (49) in 2011; girlfriends Joy (1989) and Kim (April 9, 2016).

Rick was a kind-hearted, proud, witty and loyal man who lived life his way and who always had time for family and friends.

He was born in Nanaimo, raised in French Creek and Qualicum and after graduation, he started working for his father Don, in the family business “W.E. Enterprises” danger tree service.

He followed his brothers Mark and Jerry out to Toronto and worked cleaning windows on the CN tower and for Honey-Bull in their computer warehouse. BC beckoned him home so his dad flew out to drive back with him in his Corvette.

Rick had a love of miniatures, model ships and cars and he worked at Independent Shipyards in Coombs. Like his brother and Dad, he had a love for ships and the sea.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Tina Wilson of Qualicum Beach, brothers Jim, Derral and Jerry; sister Deb, Sis/Bro in-laws – Mel Butler, Leah Wilson and Glen Mosley; nephew/nieces: Dave & Barb Larsen, Jasmine Wilson Procner, Jaryt & Jacob Wilson, Mariah & Jorgen Wilson; Great N/N Gage Larsen, Page Larsen Noble.

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

Cremation followed with a Celebration of Life in June.

Arrangements through Sands Funeral Chapel. Flowers gratefully declined but donations can be made to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Foundation. Condolences to: chrisdon@shaw.ca
