MARTIN, Ruth

Early on a rainy Sunday,November 12, 2006, Ruth Carmelia (Underwood) Martin passed away .

Ruth was born on November 4, 1930 in Vancouver, BC, the youngest of five children. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur James in 2001; parents Robert and Emily (Letton); brother George and sister Gladys.

She will always be remembered by her children David (Linda Wladarski) of Harrietsville, ON, Sandy Salmons (Ray Patten) of Nanoose Bay, Carol (Chris) Jenkins of Victoria and Doug (Cindy) of Port Moody; her grandchildren James Salmons of Nanaimo, Ruth Salmons of Vancouver, Heather Jenkins of Victoria, and Alison and Evan Martin of Port Moody; her sisters Marjorie Wilson of Victoria and Phyllis (Allen) Smallenberg of Okanagan Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth accompanied Jim in his career path first to Calgary for 5 years and then to Sarnia, ON for 20 years. After retirement they returned to BC to be near their families, settling in Parksville for the final 20 years of their lives.

We are so grateful for the gentle care Mom received from the staff at Oak Bay Lodge where she has resided since September 2001.

A Tea of Remembrance will be held atVictoria Golf Club, 1110 Beach Drive on Friday, December 1 2006, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.Please let Carol know if you will be attending.
