Samantha Ann Marie Calder

May 21, 1996 – February 1, 2015

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, Samantha “Sam” Ann Marie Calder. Born on May 21, 1996 in Victoria BC, Sam was killed in a car accident on Sunday, February 1, 2015 in Parksville BC.

She is survived by her parents David and Carol Calder of Parksville; siblings, Eva-Marie and William; grandparents, Paul and Georgette Brosseau of Parksville, Bill Calder of Victoria, Doreen Morris of Victoria; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and grand cousins. She was predeceased by her step grandfather Doug Morris.

Sam has so many friends, there are too many to list, but her parents wish to note that Makayla Seltenrich was thought of as a sister by Sam.

Sam graduated from John Barsby School in Nanaimo after attending Ballenas in Parksville for grades nine to eleven. She was a member of NLCC Admiral Yanow Corp (Navy League Cadets) and continued to RCSCC Esquimalt (Sea Cadets) until her education and goal to be an nanny pulled her away just last month.

Samantha was always one to help others less fortunate than herself. If you needed help and she knew about it, she would show up on your door with some of the things that you needed.

Sam has a heart of gold and will be very sorely missed by everyone she knew and all who knew her.

Rest in peace our darling daughter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
