It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Tom after a battle with cancer. His wife, Barb and daughters Lori & Teri were by his side. He is now resting in paradise.
Tom was born in Kirkland Lake ON and moved to Port Arthur, ON at a young age. He grew up in Port Arthur and met the love of his life, Barbara, whom he married in 1959. After raising their family, Tom and Barb moved to Qualicum Beach where they managed the Sea Flame Resort for 22 years, retiring in 2011.
He is survived by his wife Barb of 53 years, children Lori (Dougal) Shewan, Teri (Ray) Antcliffe, Michael (Lisa), Tom (Cindy), 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Tom will also be sadly missed by many friends he made in the community. A small celebration of life was held at their home in Qualicum Bay on July 19. To those who could attend, the family thanks you for your love, support, kind words and stories you shared with us that evening. We would also like to thank those who called, emailed, sent cards and flowers.
A special thank you to Dr. r. Porter-Cogan and the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, BC. You were so kind and caring in helping our family through this sad time.
