August 27th, 1938 - May 4th, 2013
Thora leaves to mourn, Marshall Hudson Butcher, her beloved husband of 57 years; children, Nancy (Doug) of Tsawwassen, William (Lorraine) of Maple Ridge, and John (Tracy) of Ladner; grandchildren, Connie (Justin), Tami (Jake), Marilyn (James), and Emily; great grandchildren Taylor, Libby and Jayden; and long time friends Ann Sawatsky and Donna and Barry Hope. She was predeceased by her father, John Comyn Ching; mother, Ann Posthuma; stepfather, Ype Postuma; and sister, Barbara Parks.
Thora was a long term employee of the Richmond School Board and spent many years as a realtor, also in Richmond. Her main interest and the joy of her life was her family. Thora also enjoyed Highland Games, sewing with her daughter, and wonderful holidays with the love of her life, Marshall.
In keeping with Thora’s wishes,
