With heavy hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Tota Ram on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the age of 84. A highly respected and much loved Patriarch and Mentor to many; Tota (Grandpa, Masterji, Mr. Ram as he was fondly known) was a lifelong educator, who as a school teacher spent many hours instilling knowledge and wisdom to those around him. After emigrating from Fiji in 1963, he taught school in the Peace River District, (Chetwynd & Dawson Creek) until his retirement to Parksville in 1992. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Bindra Wati and grandson Aaron. He is survived by sons Anil (Margaret), Sunil and Pranil and by his cherished grandchildren David, Erica and Melanie. He is also survived by a large extended family in Canada, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.
Funeral Service at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, BC on Sunday, February 27th 2011 at 1pm with visitation prior to service and reception to follow.
