Born March 15, 1924 in Grand Falls New Brunswick, Mickey passed away February 20, 2012 at Eagle Park Care Home in Qualicum Beach.

Predeceased by husband Mike in 1996 after 46 years of marriage. Mickey is survived by sister Helene Daigle of Montreal, nephews Jacques Daigle, Daniel Daigle, Gordon Henderson, David Lister, and nieces Gail Uthoff and Janet Sawatsky.

Mickey was an interesting and colorful character instantly recognizable by the brown lama hat that she wore when she was out and about in Parksville and Qualicum.

We would like to thank all the people who helped Mickey maintain her dignity and independence as she found it harder to cope on her own in the last few years. Tracy and Barb from Arrowsmith Lodge Day program who picked her up for her weekly bus trips. The caregivers from Sue’s Senior Care who made it possible for her to stay in her home a little bit longer with a special mention of Linda from Sue’s. Heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Eagle Park Care Home and the Hospice workers who cared for her in her final months and days. We will all miss her smiling face and sense of humor.

Farewell my friend.

No service at her request. There will be a get together on March 25th from 2-4 p.m. at the home of her niece Janet. 1479 Admiral Tryon Blvd., Columbia Beach in Parksville for anyone wanting to share their memories of Mickey.
