Yvonne Mary Poole (nee Laurence) passed away peacefully at Qualicum Beach, BC on March 9, 2022, in her 101st year with her three daughters lovingly by her side.
Daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Yvonne's zest for life will be remembered with love.
Born in Prince George, BC on July 20, 1921, to Elsie (Fry) and John Laurence, she is predeceased by her loving husband Bill of 44 years, brother Jimmy, twin brother Robert, brother Jack, sister Barbara.
Remembered with love by daughters Wendy (Paul), Laurie (Paul), Tanis (Murray); sister Muriel, brother David; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Raised in Edson, AB, after graduation Yvonne trained as a registered nurse at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. She went on to study Public Health at UBC in Vancouver and spent many memorable & treasured years in her profession.
A long-time resident of Qualicum Beach of 52 years, Yvonne had a passion for much in life including time with family and friends, travelling, picnicking, painting, woodcarving, reading, gardening, and volunteering. Camping was also a great pleasure in earlier times while she and Bill were raising their family.
She had a keen interest in local and world events with a love for discussion. Yvonne had a sharp wit which stayed with her to the end.
She was a lifelong active member of the Anglican Church and donated to many charities over the years.
A special thanks to the staff at the Eton Wing, the Gardens Qualicum Beach for the exceptional care they provided over the last months of Yvonne's life.
