Why on earth would anyone want huge box stores in Qualicum Beach? Have they no pride in their town?.
We already have a wonderful new hardware store, a printers and stationery store, a furniture store and various ladies and mens stores, all owned by Canadians, so why are we so anxious to support the American economy instead of our own?
Is it wrong to desire a beautiful place to live? It is time we all thought about the environment and day to day living, instead of massive structures being built all over the place. If people cannot live without hitting the big box stores, and find it a chore to drive there, then perhaps they would be better living in a large city, instead of a small town.
