The Harper Conservatives have not only cut our already tiny tax-dollar funded development assistance to non-partisan organizations; they have shifted the tiny bit that remains to largely NGO’s with no track record or to ones connected to global corporations.
Also, from this already too small pie, the Harper Conservatives are giving aid money directly to their friends in highly profitable global extractive corporations such as Rio Tinto to do work they are already doing to earn their profits.
Foreign assistance has become yet one more way the Harper Conservatives are siphoning tax-payer money to the already rich.
