Between the myriad problems we often face, I find prayer and scripture reading an incredible help to face each day in a positive way.
Over the years I learned daily the benefit of the positive force of prayer and reading from “the good book” referred to by Tevja in “Fiddler on the Roof.” Each day I start with a prayer, discussing with my Father in Heaven my schedule, asking him to help me to understand my objectives and clearly see how to accomplish them and be fruitful in my goals.
I always start the day by thanking Him for a good night’s rest and the blessings I am usually surrounded with. As with a good meal, I follow this up with a spiritual dessert called scriptures reading. Since this practice, not a day has gone by that I was not blessed with a calm and optimistic feeling throughout the day. My life was not always that way, but how thankful I am now that I know that each day in the future I can have a good day, even a happy one. Starting out with prayer and reading scripture is the best investment I have ever made in my life.
