I like a green lawn

A short while ago a letter was published which had one purpose, to shame those of us who choose to keep our lawns green.

Having been born in B.C. and lived most of my life here, I can recall how impressed people from all parts of the world would be when they saw how green this province was, including all the well-maintained, green lawns.

Qualicum Beach, as far as I know, has sufficient water resources allowing those of us who care, to water our lawns. Yes I hear that lawns that are allowed to go brown return when the rain begins, but they also return looking neglected and full of weeds.

For those of you who are against green lawns, I say:go plant a tree.
