If the members of Qualicum Beach town council are so incapable of explaining themselves that they need to hire a communications director to the tune of $80,000 a year, then they should pay for that position themselves.
It is totally unacceptable for Qualicum Beach taxpayers to foot the bill of a professional spin doctor that serves to promote council members.
The residents of Qualicum Beach have never had trouble understanding what is going on at town council and they don’t need to be fed information massaged to put a positive light on council members.
We can do that ourselves when the situation occurs.
