Some areas not prepared for host of costumed candy-seekers

Well, another night of trick-or-treaters done for this year.

I and my neighbours live in a residential area, flat and easy to navigate with houses close together.

I know it’s tempting to bring your little ones to this area to collect goodies but… our area is mostly seniors and only has about eight nearby kids. On Halloween, we got 60 kids looking for treats. They started at 6 p.m. and I had to turn my lights out at 7 p.m. I had treats for 60 kids, and felt bad about turning some away because I had run out.

Please parents, don’t dump your children where they can’t possibly be expected or they will be disappointed.
